Taiwan's ACES and Spectra7 Shine at California's DesignCon Exhibition with Collaboration!

2024-04-17

ACES (Stock Code: 3605) and the US-based high-performance analog semiconductor product supplier Spectra7 jointly announced the successful development of a new 800Gbps high-speed line for the North American data center market. This line is equipped with Spectra7's low-power analog chip technology. They showcased the first-class performance of the 800Gbps Active Copper Cable (ACC) at the DesignCon 2024 exhibition in Santa Clara County, California. DesignCon is a premier high-speed interconnect and system design conference attended by engineers from around the world.

During the exhibition, ACES' 800Gbps ACC high-speed line successfully interoperated with testing equipment from multiple vendors, achieving a very low Bit Error Rate (BER) in the range of e-9 to e-13. This breakthrough technology will bring more efficient and reliable connectivity solutions to the North American data center market. The product features three highlights:

(1) 800Gbps Speed: This high-speed line boasts remarkable transmission speed, suitable for high-demand applications of large enterprises and OEM/ODM manufacturers.

(2) Low-Power Analog Technology: It is equipped with Spectra7's GaugeChanger™ chip technology, achieving high-speed transmission while reducing power consumption.

(3) Active Copper Cable (ACC): This high-speed line will provide stable and efficient connectivity for data centers, supporting rapid data transmission.

Devin Fu, Senior Director of Administration and spokesperson for ACES, stated, "This successful collaboration will further drive the development of North American data centers, providing a stronger infrastructure for data transmission." With the rise of the AI trend in the future, the market demand for high-speed transmission continues to rise. The 800Gbps ACC cable has the advantages of no need for optoelectronic conversion and fast transmission speed, providing customers with more economical and efficient solutions.

Spectra7 CEO Raouf Halim expressed pride in collaborating with ACES and using Spectra7's innovative GaugeChanger™ integrated circuit to expand the application of 800Gbps ACC solutions. He stated, "We are proud to showcase the jointly developed technology at DesignCon 2024." John Mitchell, CMO, further explained, "Large-scale customers in North America are currently developing next-generation data centers and are particularly interested in the 800Gbps high-speed transmission market, with deployment expected to begin later in 2024."

ACES is a globally renowned supplier of high-speed connectors and cables. In addition to completing the ACC high-speed cable collaboration, they have also developed specifications for QSFPDD 400G, QSFP 200G, and have the capability to design and manufacture low-cost, low-power DSP retimer 800G AEC, as well as more flexible, customizable, and length-adjustable AOCs to replace expensive optical fibers. These products are used in various high-speed and efficient computing devices, including high-performance computing network equipment (such as routers, switches, and server devices), communication equipment, multi-function workstations, and have successfully entered the AI field. ACES Electronics estimates that revenue from AI-related products is expected to account for 10% this year, with profit growth targeted to be achieved in 2024.
